"I first saw Michael on the Ed sullivan show in 1969, he and I were kids then, through the years I kept up with him through every piece of literature I could get which wasnt much given the fact that information was very stringent and limited back then.Michael's music nevertheless was always there and thereby his presence. as we played his music at every birthday party, graduation party and just listening to pass the time away,I grew up feeling that he was always there sharing that experiance with us and it always seemed that summer was the time you could hear his record playing so when he died, I a man of 50 yrs old suddenly realized that my childhood had ended. of course I knew that I was no longer a child having begat a child myself but the realization of it all didnt fully come to me untill his death because thats what he was to me, my childhood and as long as he was around my life was like summer,so I cried deep inside of myself, the summer of my life was over. something very beautifull had left and the omnious fall was on the horizon soon to be replaced by old man winter.I wasnt surprised at all at the magnitude of the fanfare he received from people everywhere as a result of his death,I expected it from the first day I saw him cause Michael was that kind of a person, his persona was that great and when he died the world could do nothing but shake.I want to say to the Jackson family, thank you for giving him to me because you see before I saw him, i a little black boy didnt think much of myself but when i saw someone like me on the world's stage I knew right then that I mattered to the world."

Fare well MJ!"

Liked by many and still hated by many!
But all these came together on your final exit to wish you good rest. The world stopped to watch a legend put to rest.
From China to Congo, from Jo'burg to Pitsburg people mourned for you.
Your music was 'healed' through your voice. I can't do 'moon walk' but I love your achievements, you've inspired many to persevere in the midst of adversity.
May you rest in God's eternal peace.
We love you at Rehoboth."

"MJ was a superlative combination of talents, style and flair. He stretched his hand to clothe the nakedness of the less fortunate. His passing is a great loss but I sincerely hope that we will continue to cherish the values he had become associated with.

And in my part of the world I am reminded about the brevity of life, the sudden quiet rush of days and our inherent powerlessness over death. I am reminded that all that sweeten and brighten life give it meaning, and if I continue to look inside myself, like MJ, I will see how my light is such a source of goodness.

May his soul rest in eternal peace. "

We are the World with subtitles.

USA for Africa (United Support of Artists for Africa) was the name under which 45 predominantly U.S. artists, led by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie, recorded the hit single \"We Are the World\" in 1985. The song was a US and UK Number One for the collective in April of that year.

Title: Michael Jackson - We Are the World lyrics
Artist: Michael Jackson Lyrics

There comes a time
When we head a certain call
When the world must come together as one
There are people dying
And it\'s time to lend a hand to life
The greatest gift of all

We can\'t go on
Pretending day by day
That someone, somewhere will soon make a change
We are all a part of
God\'s great big family
And the truth, you know love is all we need

[Chorus]
We are the world
We are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let\'s start giving
There\'s a choice we\'re making
We\'re saving our own lives
It\'s true we\'ll make a better day
Just you and me

Send them your heart
So they\'ll know that someone cares
And their lives will be stronger and free
As God has shown us by turning stone to bread
So we all must lend a helping hand

[Chorus]
We are the world
We are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let\'s start giving
There\'s a choice we\'re making
We\'re saving our own lives
It\'s true we\'ll make a better day
Just you and me

When you\'re down and out
There seems no hope at all
But if you just believe
There\'s no way we can fall
Well, well, well, well, let us realize
That a change will only come
When we stand together as one

[Chorus]
We are the world
We are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let\'s start giving
There\'s a choice we\'re making
We\'re saving our own lives
It\'s true we\'ll make a better day
Just you and me "

"I remember listening to Michael Jackson over and over again when I was 3 years old in Harare on my older brother's gramophone / Phonograph and we would play it until the needle needed replacing. That was when Thriller came out in 1983 when LPs were still the easiest form of music reproduction found. To this day 'Wanna Be Starting Something' cheers me up when I am having a blue day. May Michael Joseph Jackson truly rest in peace. In breaking barriers like being the first black man allowed to play videos on MTV, he opened doors for millions after him. He saw challenges and strived to go for them and changed the world as he and we saw it in the process. He also reminded us that noone is perfect but being as perfect as you can be with the gifts you have been given by nature and God can do wonders for many. R.I.P..."

"A river runs its course
fed by the tears of genius
it becomes the rain of our time

Reaching the sea
it breathes a sign of relief
for the journey from birth has been long

So cradled in the arms of our memories
it closes eyes
To dream.

We heard the rush of the water
And saw the moon dance
on the passing shores
Flowing over Michael's rock music
and blues.

And our tears again and again
say thank you
for all you gave
for you.

Paul (RSA)

"You shaped a generation and a good part of my youth and made memories I can relate with joy to my children. Find peace & tranquility in your next step of the infinite journey."

Mbarika Karen Kazingizi (Zimbabwe)

"May your hetitage continue to spearhead questions about the earth and about us.

The pain will not go away - not with the demonisation of your soul still at play. Now that the multitudes have stood up for you despite the UK media negative take - they now plan to isolate us - crowd your funeral with ticket winners and send you down as a slave to corporate power rather than an African-American heritage. How can we let them use you to entrench the aspect of modern day slavery like that? "

Shirely Tamuka (South Africa)

"Dear Michael, We will forever miss your music, your moves and your good heart. RIP"

POMPEY (USA)

"I believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge -- myth is more potent than history -- dreams are more powerful than facts -- hope always triumphs over experience -- laughter is the cure for grief -- love is stronger than death. RIP M.J."

Nelson Coelho (Angola)

"Africa will always remers him as a friend."
